Menu Bar
The PingStalker menu bar provides quick access to application information, updates, settings, and all major tools.
PingStalker Menu
The main application menu contains application-level commands:
About PingStalker
Displays information about the application including:
- Application version number
- Copyright information
- Developer credits
Access: Click PingStalker in the menu bar → About PingStalker
Check for Updates
PingStalker uses the Sparkle framework for automatic updates. This menu item:
- Checks for available updates
- Downloads and installs updates
- Shows current version information
- Notifies you of new features
Access: Click PingStalker → Check for Updates...
Note: Licensed users receive all updates automatically at no additional cost.
Settings
Opens the Settings window where you can configure:
- Appearance - Light/dark theme preferences
- Alerts - Notification preferences for network events
- Monitoring - DNS monitoring options
- Privacy - Data obfuscation settings
- License - License activation and management
Keyboard Shortcut: ⌘O
Access: Click PingStalker → Settings...
Alternative Access: Click the Settings button in the toolbar
Quit PingStalker
Closes the application. PingStalker will:
- Stop all active monitoring
- Save current window positions and sizes
- Preserve all settings and configurations
- Remember ping monitor hosts
Keyboard Shortcut: ⌘Q
Tools Menu
The Tools menu provides quick access to all major PingStalker features. These same tools are also available via toolbar buttons and keyboard shortcuts.
Scan
Launches a comprehensive network scan to discover all devices on your network.

Wi-Fi Sniffing
Opens the Wi-Fi Capture window for monitor-mode packet capture.

Speed Test
Opens the Speed Test window to measure your internet connection performance.

MAC Address Lookup
Opens the MAC Address Lookup tool to identify device vendors.
Keyboard Shortcut: ⌘M

Routing Table
Opens the Routing Table viewer to display IPv4 routes and network service order.
Keyboard Shortcut: ⌘Y

Subnet Calculator
Opens the Subnet Calculator for IP address planning and calculations.

Window Menu
Standard macOS window management commands:
Minimize
Minimizes the PingStalker window to the Dock.
Keyboard Shortcut: ⌘M
Note: Network monitoring continues while minimized, and alerts will still fire if configured.
Zoom
Toggles between the current window size and maximum size.
Bring All to Front
Brings all PingStalker windows (main window and any open tools) to the front.
Help Menu
Access to help resources and documentation:
PingStalker Help
Opens this documentation in your default web browser.
Access: Click Help → PingStalker Help
